If you are in the market for a new laptop computer, you may want to consider the mini laptop computer. The mini can be considered a classification within the laptop or notebook type of computer. This growing style of computer now offers many options.

If you want to consider one of these smaller models, how do you choose? Typically the answer depends upon your own personal preferences; your likes, dislikes, and requirements.

This genre of laptop computer offers many options and making a selection can be daunting. Many people like to see what other people are buying. There is a reasonable belief that if many people are selecting a certain item, odds are that a fair number of them have done their research and made a selection based upon this research. Here are five very popular models of small laptop computers.

Acer has a model that has a large screen. The 9-inch screen on the Acer Aspire is big and bright. Having a large screen is clearly a huge advantage, especially in the mini computer genre. A small screen on a small computer can make it difficult for some people to be able to see what is on their screen.

The next model that we will look at is the Asus Eee PC 1000. The original Asus computer was smaller than this model, but this model is still small enough to still be classified within the mini laptop computer category. The Eee PC 1000, like the older versions, still uses the Intel Atom processor. The Asus is very energy efficient, and as such allows for longer use before the battery exhausts its power.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 is an excellent option. As with other Dell computers, the Mini 9 is fully configurable. Dells willingness to customize every computer makes it easy to obtain exactly what you are looking for in a computer. One shortcoming of the Dell is its less-than-average battery life.

Next is the HP mini computer. HP computers, on average, tend to be somewhat more expensive than other computers. This is true in the small laptop category as well. However, increased price, in this case means more product. The HP offers more than most other computers, so even though it may cost more, you are getting more for you money and probably getting more options that you may want or need.

Finally, we have the popular Sony VAIO. With its 8.9-inch screen, this computer measures in with a larger-than-average display. The computer also comes with an 80GB hard drive. Another nice aspect of the Sony VAIO is that it weighs just more than three pounds.

There are many small laptop computers on the market today. The five models mentioned here are among the top selling models right now. You probably will not go wrong if you selected any of these.
