You can’t enjoy your game without some very important parts of your computer being in perfect working shape. The processor, RAM, power supply, and graphics card are all very important for a gaming computer. Without these parts being in proper shape, a newer, more advanced game wont work correctly and you will have a worse gaming experience.

Power Supply

Computer basics 101… your computer needs power to run. Your computer needs to get the power to the parts that are running, which is usually not a problem. however if you are building your own computer or are adding new parts to an existing computer, you should check the minimum power necessities. If you have an older computer, building your own computer, or trying to upgrade your laptop to a gaming computer you may need to check your power supply because otherwise it won’t run properly. A 600 watt supply should be enough but remember to check the components to make sure you have what you need.

The Processor

The higher the processors gigahertz (Ghz) the faster the computer will run. It is very important that you get a fast and efficient processor. anything above 2.0 Gigahertz should be fine but for those avid gamers, get a computer nearing (or over) 3.0 Ghz. This is the most important specification in the computer. Games need to be able to run on fast computers that can keep up with them.

RAM

The RAM is also important for speed and proper game play. I suggest having 3 -4 gigs of RAM, but the sky’s the limit.

The Graphics Card

The graphics card shouldn’t be overlooked. You don’t want a fast running, bad looking game. Make sure you get a card that is either an ATI card or a Nvidia card. These companies are at the top of the graphics card tower and will give you the best graphics, based on your buck. If you have the money, buy the best one you can, it will be worth it in the end.

The Conclusion

You need to be aware of your specifications if you are going to get a gaming computer. Don’t cheap out, but don’t break your budget either. Gaming computers are always evolving, along with the games. You need to be able to get new hardware if you want to keep up!
